Where do dollars turn into USDT? At an exchange. It is the door between the two worlds, and it swings both ways.
In: send dollars from your bank to the exchange, buy USDT, move the USDT to an address you hold. Out: send USDT to the exchange, sell it for dollars, send the dollars to your bank.
In the United States an exchange is regulated like a bank and behaves like one. Before you can use it you go through KYC, which is the industry's way of asking for your ID. Your identity is tied to the account. That is the deal, and it is a fine deal.
Dashing Crypto connects to the exchanges where you buy USDT, Kraken and Binance.US. Each gives you a key that you paste into the app, and the key lets the app show your exchange balance next to your own. It also makes sending USDT to your exchange easy: once it is connected, the exchange is one of the places you can pick when you send. Moving money out of the exchange still happens in the exchange's own app, because that key cannot move a cent, for the app or for anyone else. Setting it up takes a few minutes, and there is a guide for each: Kraken: Binance.US:
